Dr Richard Hixson has been a client of RTC since November 2017 when he contacted us with a business idea in mind. He was looking to create a platform to allow medical practitioners to easily find information about training and continuous professional development opportunities.
“As a Hospital Consultant, I had detailed knowledge of the medical challenge I wished to solve and could identify the potential customer groups and users. Although I could visualise the solution, I lacked the knowledge on how to progress beyond the initial stage and could therefore not plot the path between concept and product.
“RTC have provided fantastic support especially with respects to networking. Since their involvement, I have been introduced to software developers, investors and have received advice relating to intellectual property.
“They have helped me take the concept and think critically but constructively about how it compares to competitors and how I needed to understand the intended market from the perspective of both course organisers and users.
“Follow RTC-led introductions, I was successfully awarded ERDF Grant funding, secured a software developer and now anticipate the product to be launched in August 2019.
“The contacts made through RTC have been widespread both within and outside the NHS and the business now has a clear sense of purpose and momentum supported by a robust marketing strategy.
“The RTC Team helped me realise the global multi-professional opportunity resulting from an easy-to-scale solution.
“I would not have made it this far without the support of RTC North.”
