The Innovate UK Singapore Urban Bridges Missions are targeted at innovative UK SMEs in the Advanced Urban Services sector. The specific aim of this mission is to help you further develop your innovations in-market through partnerships, collaborations and knowledge exchange with businesses and research groups by travelling to Singapore from the 29 January - 2 February 2018.
Through the programme, the successful UK applicants will learn about market opportunities and business culture by traveling to Singapore to meet prospective partners and key Government agencies, with the potential opportunity to apply to Innovate UK for a project grant to seed a collaboration with a partner from Singapore.
Innovate UK, through a grant from BEIS, will organise and fund flights, hotels, and in-country logistics for all participating companies. A participation fee of £299 from each company will be required.
This will be the third Urban Bridges mission, with successful applicants joining a growing cohort of UK SMEs who are collaborating, creating knowledge and enhancing their performance as a result of this programme.
Innovate UK’s mission partners are the Enterprise Europe Network, Singapore Manufacturing Federation, IPI Singapore and JTC Singapore.

What does the mission consist of:
As part of the mission programme, your company will:
1. Attend a pre-Mission Cohort-Building Event to fully prepare build rapport with your fellow UK delegates
2. Travel to Singapore
3. Become part of a thriving Urban Bridges network
Who should attend:
The Mission is open to innovative and high growth potential UK registered SMEs who have been trading for at least 12 months, are new to the Urban Bridges programme and are interested in partnering with Singaporean organisations to develop their innovations within one of the following advanced urban services themes:
The product or service must be:
• citizen-centred: solving problems which are important to cities and which deliver tangible benefits to all citizens
• resilient and sustainable: designed and integrated in a way that makes them able to adapt to changes and/or the ability to mitigate adverse changes.

Recruitment and selection process
Please register to the event. On registering you will receive an application form that you need to submit by 17:00 GMT on Tuesday 5 December 2017. This form is also available here.
The companies chosen will be selected in a competitive process, based on their capabilities and their suitability for international exports and partnerships. All applicants will receive an update on the status of their application by Tuesday the 12th of December.
Once an applicant is accepted onto the mission, companies will have until Friday the 5th of January 2018 to pay a participation fee of £299. Please note that this participation fee is non-refundable. Innovate UK, through a grant from BEIS, will organise and pay for all flights, hotel accommodation, and in-country logistics for all participating companies.

What are the associated costs of participating on the mission?
Subject to successful applications, there is a commitment fee of £299 which must be paid by Friday the 5th of January 2018 to confirm participation. The commitment fee is non-refundable. Innovate UK, through a grant from BEIS, will organise and fund flights, hotels, and in-country logistics for all participating companies
Mission organisers will organise and pay for all participants all flights and accommodation in Singapore. Costs associated with travel within the mission week programme (eg. for site visits) will also be arranged and paid for by mission organisers. Innovate UK will only cover all costs for one person per company.
Participants should note that participating on the mission will not only be a financial commitment, but it requires time commitment also. Participants should expect to spend time and effort prior to the mission booking and preparing for meetings with Singaporean companies as well as writing and practicing their pitches. Participation and engagement with the mission’s "preparatory programme" is compulsory and it is important that the same person who is attending the mission week will participant in these activities.
